The Sunday Post (#23) and Showcase Sunday (#9)
The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer, and Showcase Sunday is hosted by Books, Biscuits and Tea and inspired by Pop Culture Junkie and the Story Siren. They're a chance to share news, a post to recap the past week on your blog, highlight our newest books and see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, or bought.

Apart from the above, I've had a quiet week - no book shopping, no trips to the library. Which is actually a good thing, because I've been concentrating on reading some of the many unread books on my shelves, which means I've got three on the go at the moment!
Let me know what you've been up to.
Wow that's some serious dedication! I wish I had the will power to have a completely quiet week haha.
ReplyDeleteMy Showcase Sunday
Haha. I think it was more circumstance than willpower. It also had to do with the pouring rain yesterday, which put me off taking a walk to the library!

Thanks for stopping by my SP & STS earlier! Sometimes we really need those weeks when we don't add any new books to our possession! I'm getting to another place like that. Want to read what I've got before I keep getting new stuff. It's just so hard to stop sometimes! Looks like you've had a great week!
ReplyDeleteSandy @ Somewhere Only We Know
I completely agree. It was sort of nice to get to today and go: "Oh, no new books."

No book shopping? No library trip? O.O Does not compute. lol
ReplyDeleteI thought I'd feel panic, but it's actually kind of calming!

I had a slow week myself. I still got a few books but way less than usual, and I'm not even complaining, haha! :)
ReplyDeleteIt feels kind of good to not have new additions to my shelves this week. I've only just got round to finding room on my shelves for the stuff from the week before.

I really liked your "My Week in Books" post yesterday. I'm going to make it a point to look at them when you put them up. It's good that you fought the need to go book shopping or go to the library. Whenever I go to the library my tbr list just gets bigger. I wish I could focus on the books I already have too! I've had a pretty good week reviewing. But I'm reading less in less because of school :/ - Have a great week and fun reading!
ReplyDeleteThanks, My week in books means I have to find time to look at all those links I save throughout the week!
DeleteThe library is my downfall. I go for one book, or just to return books, and end up coming out with a bag full of novels.
Sarah
I really wish I had the restraint to go a week without buying/requesting any books. Alas that week has not come yet and I am constantly bogged down with books to review! Thanks for the heads up about the literary festival! I'm not too far away from that so I might go and check it out :)
ReplyDeleteHere's my SS :)
Laura @ What's Hot?
I don't think I showed any particular restraint - I was too busy all week, and then yesterday it was pouring with rain so I didn't fancy walking to the library!
DeleteSarah
I have had try to restrain from getting a lot of new books, my TBR is a mountain. Enjoy your week ahead. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by earlier.
Jenea @ Books Live Forever's Sunday Post
I've tried to stop before, but that's not worked. This week was by accident, so I guess the lesson is to stop trying!

I'm so behind, too. I can go weeks without buying a book, but working in the library, I don't think I've ever gone home empty handed. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to work in the library. It was my dream job when I was younger!
DeleteYou too.
Sarah
I have only recently begun reading multiple books. I have one on my reader, one paperback and one on my smartphone..LOL Glad you had a quiet week, we need those every now and again. Of course if you are anything like me, you will read 3 or 4 books in your piles and then turn around a buy 5-6 more!
ReplyDeleteI like having a few different books on the go sometimes, when I don't know what sort of mood I'm in.
DeleteI'm not too bad on buying books, it's the library that is my downfall!
Sarah
It is good to have a quiet week every now and then! :-)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely, although I've been reading lots in lieu of collecting books!
DeleteSarah
Three unread books left on your shelf?? That's amazing! I don't really want to count how many I have >.>
ReplyDeleteOh no, I have dozens of unread books on my shelf. I just happen to be reading three of them now!
DeleteSarah
You've been very good on the book shopping/library front! I have piles and piles on unread books yet I cannot resist adding more to them each week :$
ReplyDeleteI usually can't, it was more by chance that I didn't add anything!
DeleteSarah
I agree with what Zarina has just said. :) I should probably stop spending money on books too!
ReplyDeleteI'm not too bad with buying, since most of my books are secondhand, but I'm terrible with the library - I go in for one book and come out with six!
DeleteSarah
I envy your dedication. I desperately need to focus on my TBR pile. It's getting farther and farther out of control! Happy reading. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for dropping by my blog, and so sorry for the delay!
No dedication - just a lot of rain which made going outside unattractive, and a busy week at work meaning no time for book shopping!
DeleteSarah
I always have to go book shopping - I just can't resist the temptation, especially since new books are being released each week!
ReplyDeleteI guess we're in the build up to Christmas now, so even more new books are being released. I'll hopefully be back to my normal self soon.
